TTC subway guide and nearby attraction

If you are new immigrant/student in toronto or a tourist, getting around toronto using subway/metro run by the toronto transit commision (TTC) is very essential. There are lot of advantages in taking subway to get around in town. It is very fast, pretty reliable, and easy to reach your destination. Many attractions and essential stores/malls/offices are close to subway. It is normal to see a city grow around the subway lines. Right? Toronto subway is pretty simple. It does not have many lines. There is one line  that goes between east to west and another that goes between north to south. There are couple of small lines one starting from sheppard and another starting from Kennedy.

The east to west lines is called the bloor - danforth line (green line shown in map below). This line runs between Kennedy station on far east of scarborough and Kipling which is to the far west.
The north to south is called the Yonge-University line or something that runs between Finch (station and Downview station. This is a U shaped line and goes from north Yonge/Finch intersection to downtown (Yonge/Front) and then all the way to downsview station via University avenue. The map of TTC subway line is below and this taken from ttc web site.

The reason for writing this blog is to make it easy for you to go all the important destinations using the TTC. Whenever in toronto find the closest ttc subway station. Ask your friend or whoever you can about the closest ttc station. Lookup that station in the above map to get a sense of where you are. Now if you are in the east lets say at Kennedy and want to go to downtown, then take the train that leaves kennedy and goes west towards bloor/yonge station. Get down at bloor/yonge station which is called the interchange station. From that station take the steps up to the next floor from where you can catch the southbound station that goes to downtown. List below will give all the tourist attractions and the closest subway station.
